Let’s slow this train down

One neurosurgeon, two oncologist, three MRIs, and seven days in the hospital culminating with a biopsy and we have a clear and confirmed diagnosis… Sadly, it is indeed a Grade 4 Glioblastoma growing in Charlie’s head (aka fast-growing, cancerous brain tumor). So now what?

Well, after discussing options of do nothing vs treat aggressively, we have agreed to something in the middle where he will skip the brain surgery which was expected to cause new issues with speech and reasoning centers, and instead just try radiation and chemotherapy.

Targeted twice daily radiation, both morning and afternoon, with Temodor (chemo pill) taken each night for the next 6 weeks to see if we can slow down the tumor growth.

We have no clue how this radiation and chemo will compare to what Charlie went through 17 years ago for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma but we understand most of the risks and limitations and it is clear that no one gets out of here alive, hopefully we can slow things down and buy a little more time.

  1. Up until this affliction, was Charlie still going on his daily walks? Maybe not the 10-20 miles he was doing on my last visit?

  2. Thank you for keeping us posted! We are sending love, prayers and healing ❤️‍🩹 thoughts to Charlie and family!!!
