Joe Klinger is an environmental scientist and part-owner of a local consulting firm, a USCG licensed captain, and NAUI dive instructor. Joe has been spearfishing in RI since the early 90’s taking part in North Atlantic Championship tournaments and will be competing on a RI team at the 2008 US Nationals in Newport, RI this August. Joe has also enjoyed spearfishing in the Florida’s Keys, Florida’s east coast, and competing in the Kristiansund Cup in Norway in 2007. To keep in good diving shape in the offseason, Joe plays underwater hockey several times a week in CT, RI, and MA, competes in regional, national, and Canadian tournaments, and is the Northeast Regional Development Director. Joe will be competing at the US National Underwater Hockey Championships in Gainesville, FL at the end of July. Joe is a member of the RI Free Dive Club, the Mass Freedivers, as well as the RI Red and CT Barnacles Underwater Hockey clubs.
